The FXFL kicked off Wednesday night at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, home of the Creighton Bluejays baseball team and the College World Series. The home team, the Omaha Mammoths, dominated the game and defeated the Boston Brawlers 41-18 in the first game in league history.
According to Rich Kaipust of the Omaha World-Herald, FXFL Commissioner Brian Woods was pleased with the turnout. Kaipust estimated the crowd to be about 3,000 in the 24,505-seat stadium. Omaha previously supported the United Football League's Omaha Nighthawks well with crowds in excess of 20,000 every game in 2010.
